Floral Ascent: A Mélange of Colors

Southwest Florida artist, Rebecca Christopher expresses herself through the use of acrylics. Attracted to the vibrancy of acrylic pouring but disturbed by the waste of paint, she began experimenting with first mixing her acrylics with the pouring medium, then sweeping the mélange of premixed colors onto a canvas and letting the colors guide her. She uses a palette knife in place of a brush and blows the colors into patterns with a straw. Her work is currently displayed at the COCO Gallery in Estero.
The result is an arresting combination of bold hues against a muted gray background; the shapes flow into one another at times, and at other points stand out in contrast to make a stunning visual statement. The winning bidder on this lot will acquire an eye-catching addition to the décor of their home.
INSIDER’S INFO: Floral Ascent includes a mélange of crimson, yellow, gold, orange, greens, blues and an occasional touch of black on a muted gray background textured with hints of white, yellow and teal. Winning bidder is responsible for pickup and shipping.
