2 750ml 2012 Bouchard Pere & Fils Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

One (1) Vinarmour wine travel bag with strap, collapsible, leakproof, both impact and puncture resistant, capable of protecting a 750ml bottle

Of all the great white wines in Burgundy, Corton-Charlemagne is one of the most profound and most historic. Named for the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, who once owned the hill of Corton on which the vineyards now rest, the wine dates to 1375 and was officially recognized as a Grand Cru in 1937. According to Master of Wine Clive Coates, the Chardonnay of Corton-Charlemagne matures more slowly than Le Montrachet and can often take at least ten years to reach its peak.

One of the oldest and most respected négociant houses, Bouchard Père et Fils was founded in Beaune in 1731. They acquired a significant stake in the vineyard of Le Corton in 1909 and today own nearly 25% of the production of Corton-Charlemagne. While impressively rich, the 2012 is full-bodied and muscular, layered with flavors of vanilla, lemon, peach, grapefruit and spice.

The world’s most luxurious and protective wine bag for travel.  Reinforced with two different types of Kevlar, the Vinarmour™ Wine Carrier is the first and only puncture-resistant and leakproof wine travel case that is soft and collapsible.  Handsome leather and waxed cotton exterior also makes it a stylish tote to carry your favorite bottle from your cellar to any occasion.

INSIDER’S NOTES: The wine must be picked up at the Naples Children & Education Foundation office or shipped to the winning bidder. Shipping arrangements, including expenses and insurance, are the sole responsibility of the winner of the auction lot.
