Founded by legendary vintner Bill Harlan, the Napa Valley Reserve is a unique private membership club. Approximately 600 couples from all over the globe own sections of the vineyard, which is supervised by the Harlan Estate team. Owners can get as involved as they wish in the production of their own wine, and the Reserve Club hosts exclusive lifestyle events for members throughout the year.
One of those events is the annual Flowering of the Vines celebration, which takes place in May during the part of the vine cycle known as budbreak, when the first shoots appear that will later become grapes. Join NCEF Trustees Debbi and Bill Cary to mark the beginning of the growing season that will culminate in harvest.
While in Napa, you’ll have the privilege of a private tasting at OVID Napa Valley on Pritchard Hill, one of California’s most exclusive and sought-after estates. Founded in 2005, the winery today is operated by the Duncan family, owners of Silver Oak and Twomey. OVID produces between 1,000 and 1,200 cases of a stunning Bordeaux-style blend each year, along with several experimental cuvées not released to the public and only available at the winery.
