twelve (12) people
Food prepared by chef Sebastian Mazzotta
Décor and coordination by Margaret Events
Cocktails created by Barry Larkin of 7 Avenue Social
Wines from NCEF Trustee's Cellars
Although Boogie-Woogie is primarily associated with dancing (and it’s hard to keep your feet under control while listening to it), it’s also a musical genre in its own right. It developed in African American communities in the 1870s and went mainstream fifty years later, spreading as far as big band, country music and gospel. Most Boogie-Woogie tunes are twelve-bar blues, but it adapts easily to singers, small combos and even orchestras.
The winning bidder and a close circle of friends will be treated to an evening of Boogie-Woogie arranged by the Swedish composer Robert Wells, best known for his Rhapsody in Rock; accompanying him will be the gifted alto and mezzo-soprano Maria Wells. The group won’t go hungry, either: Sebastian Mazzotta, who has worked as a private chef in Naples for nearly two decades, will customize the menu to their wishes and mixologist Barry Larkin of 7 Avenue Social will supply a range of innovative craft cocktails. Pulling it all together will be Margaret Short of Margaret Events, who orchestrates the top social events in town with effortless ease.
INSIDER’S INFO: Dinner to be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date between April 2020-November 2020. Dinner can be increased to more than 12 people at the winning bidder’s expense.
DONORS: Maria & Robert Wells, Margaret Events, Chef Sebastian Mazzotta, and Barry Larkin
