From the private cellars of Mary Pat & Frank Hussey, purchased and stored with passion in Naples, Florida.

This eclectic collection spans three continents and comprises five different yet distinctive producers. Your journey begins in Tuscany, where the Manetti Family has been making classically inspired Chianti in a modern and dynamic fashion since 1968. From there you travel to South Australia and the Penley Estate, founded by Reginald Lester Tolley & Judith Ann Penfold Hyland. A long plane flight then brings you to the Napa Valley, where retired race car driver Randy Lewis established a small family winery in 1992; his Vin Gris, made from estate-grown Syrah grapes, is a Rosé vibrant with flavors of raspberry fruit and hints of yellow peach. And don’t forget the Cabernet Sauvignon: the 3 Liter bottle from Columbia Crest’s Horse Heaven Hills in Washington State provides a pure profile of blackberry, vanilla and ripe tannins.

Of course, you’ll want to save the best for last. The 1989 La Mission Haut-Brion is one of the most acclaimed wines in the recent history of Bordeaux. Powerful and muscular, filled with notes of exotic spice and incense, the wine has a beautiful core of mouth-filling fruit and nearly perfect balance, fitting for the most special of occasions.

INSIDER’S INFO: Wine must be picked up at the Naples Winter Wine Festival office or shipped at the winning bidder’s expense.
