Lunch at Chappellet Vineyard hosted by Blakesley Chappellet for six (6) people
One (1) signed copy of Napa Valley Entertaining
When Molly & Donn Chappellet moved to Napa in 1966, modern California wine was still in its infancy. Donn was an avid collector of Bordeaux wines, and was looking to recreate that magic in the New World. He took the advice of Andre Tchelistcheff of Beaulieu Vineyards and bought 320 acres of rocky hillside land near the top of Pritchard Hill—a vineyard site recognized many years later as one of the very best in the state. Today his legacy is carried on by his son Cyril and wife Blakesley, guided by the stewardship of longtime winemaker Phillip Corallo-Titus.
The Chappellet range begins with the Grower Collection: Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Noir sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites around the state. The labels of the Artist Series, conceived by Molly Chappellet as a way of commemorating her family’s love of both art and wine, grace the bottles of Malbec, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel. For the past three decades, the Signature Cabernet has been the family’s benchmark wine, a splendid example of mountain-grown Cabernet with great aging potential. At the top of the range is the Pritchard Hill bottling: composed of the best grapes from their 27 vineyard lots and only produced in exceptional years.
The winning bidder and his or her party of six will be treated to lunch at the Chappellet winery on Pritchard Hill, hosted by Blakesley Chappellet and accompanied by her selection of wines.
INSIDER’S INFO: Lunch to be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date and will expire on January 30, 2021. Accommodations, airfare and ground transportation are not included.
