A six (6)-course dinner with wine pairings in Aria’s wine cellar in Atlanta, Georgia for four (4) people
Gerry Klaskala has received endless accolades both as a chef and a human being. Originally an art student, he participated in a gourmet food show at age 17, won best in show and revised his career ambitions. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Klaskala worked for both Hyatt and the Hillstone group before opening Canoe in 1995; his second restaurant, Aria, has won awards for its modern interpretations of classic American ingredients and dishes. He is as passionate about charity work as he is about food, and has been closely involved with Share Our Strength, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Atlanta Community Food Bank and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The winning bidder will receive a six-course dinner for four with wine pairings at Aria’s wine cellar in Atlanta. Klaskala remains an artist at heart, and he approaches every dish as if it were a composition on canvas. His most famous dishes at Aria are the butter braised Maine lobster with truffled potatoes and broccoli mousseline; creamless wild mushroom soup with white truffle oil; octopus tempura, pappardelle with slow braised duck, and mountain trout with snap beans and Tokyo turnips. Pastry chef Kathryn King’s offerings changed frequently but are likely to include delights such as Valrhona chocolate cream pie or vanilla panna cotta.
INSIDER’S INFO: Dinner to be booked on a Monday through Thursday evening. Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance. Tax and gratuity are not included. Accommodations, airfare and ground transportation are also not included.
