Chef Rick Tramonto grew up in a traditional blue-collar Italian family, dropped out of high school and learned to cook on the job. After mastering the techniques of French cooking, he worked in Manhattan at Gotham Bar & Grill and the legendary Tavern on the Green. In the 1980s, Richard Melman of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises enticed Tramonto to come to Chicago, where he gained fame as the founding chef at Tru. Today he’s best known as the co-owner of Restaurant R’evolution in New Orleans’ Royal Sonesta Hotel. In a city filled with culinary legends, R’evolution has captured the imagination of diners with its artful, modern renderings of classic Cajun and Creole dishes.

Your meal will begin with the dramatic and unforgettable Caviar Staircase, signed by Rick Tramonto. Other noteworthy starters include beer-battered crab beignets, chicken fried foie gras or the signature Death by Gumbo. Whether you choose a show-stopping entrée such as tryptich of quail or pumpkin agnolotti with rabbit, you’ll be entering another dimension. The award-winning wine cellar features 10,000 bottles selected by wine director Steven Russett. Finish with the coconut bread pudding crème brulée, and you will have experienced the best of NOLA.


INSIDER’S INFO: Reservations are subject to availability and must be made in advance. Alcoholic beverages, tax and gratuity are not included and the packaged expires on October 31, 2020. The carved glass staircase measures 10 x 8 x 7 inches and must be picked up at the Naples Winter Wine Festival office or shipped at the winning bidder’s expense.
