The winning bidder will bring a party of four to BRERA Ristorante for a personalized dinner created by this hands-on chef, who also happens to be an aficionado of Barolo. Chef Angelo's inspiration for the dinner will be driven by the best ingredients and profile of the wines; he will reach into his personal wine collection to perfectly pair wines for a dinner you will never forget.
Angelo Auriana grew up in Bergamo, near Milan, graduated from the San Pellegrino Hotel School at 17, and opened his first restaurant shortly thereafter. After coming to the U.S., he spent 18 years working for famed restaurateur Piero Selvaggio, first at Primi and later as executive chef at Valentino. At BRERA Ristorante (formerly Officine Brera), he and partner Matteo Ferdinandi specialize in the cuisine of their native Po River Valley in Northern Italy. Auriana’s menus include risotto, shellfish and river fish, lardo and porchetta, pork shanks and beef cheeks. He concentrates on authentic Italian flavors and specializes in combining traditional recipes with modern, contemporary cooking techniques.
