A VIP wine and cheese sunset reception on board the pontoon, Good Fortune II for up to thirty (30) guests
There’s no better way to get a bird’s eye view (pun intended) of the work accomplished by the Conservancy of Southwest Florida than taking an eco-cruise on Rookery Bay. The cruises are led by a Coast Guard-certified captain and accompanied by Conservancy naturalists who are full of background information on the wildlife and environment of the region.
The winning bidder on this lot will be able to take up to 30 people on a VIP wine and cheese reception aboard the Good Fortune II, a comfortable, covered pontoon boat. While the focus will be more social than ecological, you’ll still get a glimpse of what gets the Conservancy personnel up in the morning. Rookery Bay has a rich history, and the estuaries provide a sanctuary for many threatened and endangered species including loggerhead sea turtles, manatees, least terns, and a variety of insects, crustaceans, birds, and small mammals. The bay also functions as a habitat for raptors, and you may see a bald eagle if you look closely. In addition to sipping wine at sunset, you’ll gain a new appreciation for the wildlife and sea creatures that make their home in the mangroves.
INSIDER’S INFO: Boat cruise and reception are to be scheduled for a mutually agreeable date and is subject to tides, weather and availability. Package is valid through January 31, 2021.
