16 Liter 2006 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (in original wood box and signed by Clint Black and David Duncan, along with the phrase “Life is a Cabernet”, which David wrote)
Established in 1972 by Justin Meyer and Ray Duncan, Silver Oak is a family-owned winery dedicated to producing only Cabernet Sauvignon from two wineries: one in Oakville in the Napa Valley and one in Healdsburg in the Alexander Valley. Over the years, Silver Oak Cabernets have won just about every accolade in the wine world on their way to cult status. Under the leadership of second-generation owner David Duncan, the winery has also taken a leadership role in the realm of sustainability. In 2016, their Napa facility became the first commercial winery in the world to earn the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certification for efficient energy use; their Alexander Valley winery was also granted the certification in the "new building" category in 2018.
The lucky winning bidder will receive a six-liter bottle (the equivalent of eight regular 750ml bottles) of Silver Oak’s 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet. A blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the wine was aged for 25 months in 100% new American oak barrels and an additional 20 months in bottle before release. Deeply concentrated and floral, it offers up flavors of blackberries, cassis and Asian spices, and will continue to age gracefully for another decade.
INSIDER’S INFO: Wine must be picked up at the Naples Children & Education Foundation office or shipped at the winning bidder’s expense.
