1 – 3 Liter 2013 Tenuta Sette Ponti Oreno Toscana IGT
Entrepreneur Antonio Moretti may be known for luxury goods such as handmade shoes, but he’s equally passionate about wine. He inherited the Tuscan vineyards of Tenuta Sette Ponti from his father; in 1999 he added Poggio al Lupo in Maremma, and he expanded his reach the following year by assembling the Feudo Maccari estate in Sicily. Sette Ponti itself occupies 150 acres on a mix of clay, sand and limestone soils, with the oldest vines dating to 1935.
The lucky winning bidder will receive a rare Double Magnum (the equivalent of four 750 ml bottles) of Oreno Toscana, the flagship wine of Sette Ponti. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, it has been compared to Château Latour by leading critics such as James Suckling. 2013 is a rich and powerful vintage, filled with flavors of black cherry, plum, leather and tobacco. It is drinking well now and will be at its peak through 2027.
INSIDER’S INFO: Wine must be picked up at the Naples Children & Education Foundation office or shipped at the winning bidder’s expense.
