When Fabrizio Aielli first arrived in Naples to share his culinary talents at the 2005 Naples Winter Wine Festival, he was already an accomplished chef with three award-winning restaurants in Washington, D.C. However, the seaside atmosphere of Naples transported him back to his childhood roots in Venice, Italy, and he moved here several years later with his wife, Ingrid. Ever since, it’s fair to say that the Aiellis have reinvented Italian cuisine in Naples and have become wonderful and generous supporters of the Naples community.
The winning bidder will have the opportunity to experience any or all of their four local restaurants. Sea Salt came first, opening in 2008 and earning the accolade of Best New Restaurant from Esquire magazine. They followed this with Barbatella, a “spirited Italian trattoria” located near Sea Salt on Third Street South. Dorona, opened in 2018, is Aielli’s take on a modern Italian steakhouse, featuring the very best cuts of meat from the U.S. and around the world. Their newest venture, Grappino, focuses on rustic cooking and features one of the country’s largest grappa bars with over 100 selections.
