Twenty-four (24) year vertical 750ml Grace Family Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (one each: 1978 - 2001) in two custom display boxes
When Grace Family Cabernet Sauvignon skyrocketed to prominence as California’s first cult wine, no one was more surprised than Ann and Dick Grace. The couple had arrived in Napa in the mid-seventies with their two teenagers and purchased a rundown house and 3.5 acres of land mostly planted with olives. As a vintner, Dick was a hobbyist, but he had stumbled on one of the best microclimates in the Valley for producing Cabernet Sauvignon. The critics agreed, and the legend of Grace Family Vineyards was launched.
Along the way, Ann and Dick became more and more involved in philanthropy, establishing the Grace Family Foundation which helps underprivileged children around the world. Over the years they have supported more than 20 charities, including the Naples Children & Education Foundation.
The production of Grace Family remains tiny, and the wine is sold exclusively though a mailing list. The chance to own a 24-year vertical is breathtaking; whatever the winning bidder ends up paying for it, this lot is priceless.
INSIDER’S INFO: Wine with display boxes must be picked up at the Naples Children & Education Foundation office or shipped at the winning bidder’s expense.
